Nick Scherer joined VIDA in April 2017, and it’s safe to say that he’s found his #fitfam. We caught up with him to learn more about his motivation to become a part of the VIDA community, his typical workout routine, and how he spends his time outside the gym.
Even with those doubts and failures, I stayed the course--which I’ve learned is the key to fitness. It’s less about obsessing over a “perfect” diet and workout schedule 100 percent of the time, and more about consistency, focus and not giving up.
Since joining VIDA Fitness, Sarah Heckman has become an entirely different person: She lifts serious weight and works out five times a week. And that’s not all — she’s even currently studying to become a personal trainer after getting inspired by the trainers she’s worked with at VIDA.
When you see yourself every day, sometimes it’s hard to recognize the progress that you’re making. But when people who haven’t seen you in eight months are showering you with congratulations and comments like “wow, you really great!” and “I can totally see a difference” it’s pretty damn awesome.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over these last few months, it’s that progress with fitness takes a lot of time—there are no instant results—and a lot of dedication, but that it’s 100% percent worth it. The feeling of hitting a milestone like fitting into clothes you haven’t fit into for a few years is the perfect illustration of that.
Just had my latest bi-weekly weigh-in and InBody assessment with VIDA Registered Dietitian Addie Claire Merletti and I’m super excited to report that my hard work over these last two weeks since she and I last met is continuing to work!
Tyler Bridegan has been a VIDA member for less than a year, but he’s already seeing major results. The 27-year-old attorney has dropped more than 50 lbs and has substantially lowered his body fat percentage — and he’s just getting started!
When Alex Iverson-Day joined VIDA last October, the 31-year-old human resources director was looking to make a change. She wanted to trade in her unhealthy lifestyle, get back to working out consistently, and drop some weight. By teaming up with a licensed dietitian and a personal trainer at VIDA, she was able to do all that and more.
I’ve only been working out with Susie for a few weeks but I can’t overstate what an incredible help she’s been to me. Knowing I’ve committed to a training session with Susie makes it really hard to bail on going to the gym. Susie is always positive and focuses on my accomplishments, not what I can’t do (yet).
Like many in the VIDA community, fitness is an integral part of my lifestyle. As an avid gym-goer, one of my biggest challenges is keeping my routine fresh and avoiding those pesky plateaus. I try to switch it up regularly — my daily workouts are a mix of weightlifting, indoor cycling, yoga, boxing, and cardio sessions on machines like the StairMaster. But sometimes, you need a little push. Or, in my case, a big push.
